Terms of Service

Welcome to Step Wars Challenge. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Step Wars Challenge mobile application (the "App") operated by Tyler A. ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

2. Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

You may not create an account using another person's information or impersonate another person.

3. Health Data and HealthKit

The App integrates with Apple HealthKit to read your step count data. By granting the App access to HealthKit:

• You authorize us to read your step count data for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy
• You understand that the App does not provide medical advice or health services
• You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through iOS Settings

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Cheat or manipulate gameplay: Use device shaking, automated scripts, GPS spoofing, or any other method to artificially inflate your step count
• Harass other users: Engage in abusive, threatening, or discriminatory behavior
• Create multiple accounts: Operate more than one account to gain unfair advantages
• Exploit bugs: Take advantage of errors, bugs, or vulnerabilities in the App
• Interfere with the App: Attempt to disrupt, overload, or hack the App's infrastructure
• Reverse engineer: Decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App

5. Fair Play and Anti-Cheat

Step Wars Challenge is a competitive fitness app built on trust and fair play. We employ anti-cheat measures including:

• Daily step caps (30,000 steps maximum)
• Cadence validation (maximum 250 steps per minute)
• Active hours requirements (minimum 3 hours of activity per day)
• Random GPS spot-checks for verification

Violations of fair play policies may result in:

• Flagging of suspicious activity
• Removal from leagues
• Account suspension or permanent ban
• Reset of progress and achievements

6. User Content and Usernames

You may choose a username for your account. You agree that your username will not:

• Violate any trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights
• Be offensive, obscene, or harassing
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Contain personal information (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.)

We reserve the right to remove or modify usernames that violate these Terms.

7. Competitive Leagues

The App features weekly competitive leagues where users compete based on step counts. You understand that:

• League placements are determined by verified step data
• Your weekly step total and rank are visible to other users in your league
• League promotions and demotions are based on your performance relative to others
• We may adjust league algorithms to maintain competitive balance

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Tyler A. and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
• Use the App's name, logo, or branding without permission
• Create derivative works based on the App

9. Disclaimers

No Medical Advice: Step Wars Challenge is a fitness motivation app, not a medical device or health service. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any exercise program.

Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that step counts, league rankings, or other data in the App will always be completely accurate or error-free.

Service Availability: We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or free from interruptions, delays, or errors.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tyler A. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the App
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or your data
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code transmitted through the App
• Any errors or omissions in the App's content

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tyler A. from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the App and contacting us to request account deletion.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved in the courts located in the United States.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tyler A. regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
