How do I grant HealthKit permissions?

When you first open the app, you'll be prompted to grant access to your step data. If you skipped this or need to change permissions:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Scroll down to Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Health
  4. Tap Step Wars Challenge
  5. Toggle Steps to ON

Why aren't my steps syncing?

If your steps aren't appearing in the app:

How do leagues work?

Every week (Monday to Sunday), you compete in a league of 20 players matched to your activity level:

Your first week is in a "Rookie league" with AI opponents while the system learns your activity level.

What are activity tiers?

Activity tiers (Casual, Active, Athlete, Elite) are based on your average daily steps over 30 days. This ensures you compete against people with similar lifestyles. Your tier is recalculated weekly.

How do streaks work?

You maintain a streak by logging at least one step every day. If you know you'll miss a day, you can use a streak freeze (earned through gameplay achievements). Streaks reset to 0 if you miss a day without a freeze.

Can I change my username?

Not yet, but this feature is coming soon. In the meantime, if you need to change your username, contact us.

Why was I flagged for suspicious activity?

The app uses anti-cheat systems to ensure fair play. You may be flagged if:

If you believe you were flagged in error, contact us with details about your activity that day.

Troubleshooting

App won't open or crashes on startup

  1. Force quit the app (swipe up from the bottom and swipe the app away)
  2. Restart your iPhone
  3. Check for app updates in the App Store
  4. Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 15.0 or later

Account Management

How do I delete my account?

Warning: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, progress, achievements, and league history will be permanently deleted.

To request account deletion:

  1. Send an email to support@stepwarschallenge.com
  2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include the email address associated with your account
  4. We will process your request within 7 business days

Note: An in-app account deletion feature is coming soon.

How do I export my data?

You have the right to access and download your data. To request a copy of your data:

  1. Email us at support@stepwarschallenge.com
  2. Use the subject line: "Data Export Request"
  3. We will send you a JSON file with all your account data within 7 business days
